Open your cupboard door and take a look at the piles of jumpers (sweaters) and t-shirts, or perhaps, like me, you hang them in the wardrobe.Do you wear them all ? Are there some you wear 5 times more than others ? Are there some in there you haven’t worn for a couple of months ?
Here is my Top Tip for making sure you wear all your clothes :
Every morning, take a new item of clothing, say a T-shirt, from the top of your pile and when it is laundered and you are about to put it away, on the top of the pile… don’t. Put it on the bottom. Every morning try and create an outfit around the next item that is on the top of the pile. Same idea with everything that is hanging in your wardrobe. Try to take a new piece of clothing from the right side of the wardrobe and create an outfit from that. When you replace your clothes in the wardrobe, hang them on the left side (if you are right-handed).
2 things might happen very quickly:
1) You will create new outfits because you are finally wearing the clothes you haven’t noticed for a while. 2) You will see clothes that are on the top of the pile or on the right side of your wardrobe that you have been looking at each day for a month / season, and now you know they are in there taking up space and there is no chance you will wear them. So swap, swish or donate them and create space in your wardrobe for the clothes you do wear.
It is said we wear 20% of our clothing 80% of the time. Calculate the cost of those clothes you are not wearing. Don’t use this exercise as a way of creating space to buy more clothes before you know WHY you bought them – you made a financial, and perhaps a style, mistake buying them so don’t buy more until you know why.
If you don’t know why, then Contact Me because for as little as €250 you could save yourself lots of money by not purchasing clothes you don’t wear and have a wardrobe full of clothes that are Wonderful.
P.S. I do have so few clothes I have SPACE in my wardrobes ! It is called a capsule wardrobe, everything can be worn with everything…
